Some suppliers offer extinguishers with pre-filled service labels. This does not meet UK compliance standards.
Fire extinguishers can be purchased online, but they only become compliant once commissioned on site by a competent person. Under BS 5306-3, commissioning must take place at the point of installation, not before dispatch.
Without on-site commissioning, extinguishers are not legally compliant for business premises under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
A lower price means nothing if the equipment is not compliant. Non-compliance can void your insurance and put you on the wrong side of the law.
